April 2014 Performance: Marie-Antoinette by the Houston Ballet Private networking cocktail attended by 50 young professionals, who were able to discover the Houston Ballet, the renowned company invited by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. The troupe presented Marie-Antoinette, a lavish narrative ballet depicting the tragic life of the legendary Queen of France. With its flamboyant costumes and imposing sets designed by Canadian set designer Kandis Cook, the work re-enacted the extraordinary destiny of Marie-Antoinette, a young bride barely past childhood, a carefree and frivolous socialite, a loving wife and mother, and finally a deposed queen led to the scaffold. October 2013 Performance: Sleeping Beauty  Private networking cocktail attended by 50 young professionals, who discovered the world of Swedish choreographer Mats Ek through his magical ballet that opened the 2013-2014 season of Les Grands Ballets. A private conference on the work was held after the performance, exclusive to participants. Ballet Classes During the 2013-2014 season, Les Jeunes Gouverneurs organized four ballet classes given by Grands Ballets dancers Hervé Courtain, Jeremy Raia and Jerimy Rivera at the company’s rehearsal studios. Young professionals, novice and more advanced dancers were thus able to learn more about classical ballet, ballet jazz and hip-hop.
