$100,000 RAISED BY LES GRANDS BALLETS’ JEUNES GOUVERNEURS

Les Jeunes Gouverneurs’ 4th Annual Benefit Evening, presented by National Bank in collaboration with L'Oréal Professionnel, took place on Saturday, March 12, at the Salon urbain of the Place des Arts.

This evening which was sold out for over a week before the event was attended by over 450 guests under the theme "Lights of Asia" in order to heighten philanthropic awareness to a new generation and create networking opportunities.

Hosted by Virginia Coossa, the evening began with a cocktail reception where appetizers and cocktails were served. Photographers were clicking away on the red carpet as the evening’s attendees were arriving, while the auction was a must see. The committee greeted fans and newcomers to celebrate ballet in a very festive atmosphere. Later on, the dancers of Les Grands Ballets joined DJ Thomas H and the guests on the dancefloor.

Generous prizes and special perks were offered throughout the evening: the National Bank drew a prize worth $1,000, L'Oréal Professionnel invited guests to take a seat in one of their hairstyling stands and our silent auction included a pair of airline tickets to Europe offered by Air France!

"Since the creation of the committee in 2012, more than 1,400 young professionals attended a ballet show while partaking in our Annual Benefit Evening. Within four years, we have managed to increase the interest of young professionals towards Les Grands Ballets, a cultural institution that plays a key role in Montreal as well as on the international scene. We are very pleased to have reached our goal of $100,000 and hope to continue our evolution in terms of philanthropic awareness" stated Jessica Drolet, founder and co-chair of Les Jeunes gouverneurs des Grands Ballets.

"During our Annual Benefit Evening, our guests attend a contemporary ballet while learning the importance of philanthropy and supporting the arts, this is what distinguishes our event from others. We can only hope that these young professionals will go see other creations in the near future. " added Elise Sauvé, co-chair of Les Jeunes gouverneurs des Grands Ballets.

WORD FROM THE CO-PRESIDENTS

Passionate about art and philanthropy, our mission is to make the ballet more accessible for everyone. Our primary role, however, is sharing our love and appreciation in dance. We are continually surpassing ourselves to find new ways to help our peers discover the beauty of this art form.
